Hotel reservation

Ample rooms in various price categories are available in the immediate vicinity of the congress venue. Accommodation will be reserved and confirmed upon receipt of your registration and payment of the hotel room deposit (height of the deposit is one night's stay). Reserve your room well in advance because reservations cannot be guaranteed after 25 March 2007. After this date accommodation requests will be confirmed according to space availability.

The hotel room deposit will be deducted from the hotel invoice. The congress secretariat reserves the right to book rooms elsewhere should the desired accommodation no longer be available. If you wish to change or cancel your reservation please notify the congress secretariat in writing and not the hotel.

If you are making your own accommodation arrangements please state this on the registration form; this information will be published in the list of participants.

Cancellations, modifications and refunds

All cancellations and/or modifications must be sent to the congress secretariat in writing. Please note that hotels will not accept any changes directly.

For cancellations received before 25 March 2007, the hotel room deposit will be refunded less EURO (€ ) 50 for administrative costs. After this date, no refund will be made.

In case cancellations or modifications are made after 25 March 2007, one room night will be charged. Please note, however, the organisers reserve the right to charge the full stay if the hotel room cannot be re-sold.

An administrative fee of Euro (€ ) 30.- will be charged for every modification received after 25 March 2007.

Hotels

All hotels, most of which are modest in size, have modern comfort and private bathrooms. Delegates wishing to stay in a hotel in Venice should be aware of the fact that the boat trip to the Lido will take approx. 15 minutes. Tickets for unlimited travel on (most) waterbuses for the duration of the congress can be bought at a special rate in advance through the registration form. See under 'transportation in Venice'.

Rooms in the following hotels have been reserved (see map on inside cover for location):

A credit card number is required to guarantee the hotel reservation. The hotel will debit the guests for one (1) night stay and take pre-authorisation for the remaining nights. The remaining nights will be charged upon check-out.

After 25 March 2007, only payments by credit card will be accepted.

All prices are in EURO (€), per room per night, including breakfast, city taxes and VAT. These preferential rates are only available if booked through the congress organisers. The hotel reserves the right to charge you for all nights reserved on the registration form should you check out before the confirmed departure date or in case of a no-show.

LIDO

Rivamare - 2 stars
Hotel Rivamare is conveniently located within 5 minutes walking distance from the Congress Centre. It has a beautiful view over the sea.

Atlanta Augustus - 3 stars
The Atlanta Augustus hotel is located within 15 minutes walking distance from the Congress Centre. Housed in a splendid, fully restored Art Nouveau villa, it enjoys a central position on the Lido.

Belvedere - 3 stars
Hotel Belvedere looks across the world's most famous lagoon offering incomparable views of Venice. It is situated 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre. Built in 1857, the hotel has been run by the same family for more than a century. The hotel has a restaurant.

Buon Pesce - 3 stars
Hotel Buon Pesce has completely been reconstructed in 2001. It is located at 10 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre. It is housed in a charming building surrounded by a verdant garden overlooking the lagoon. 

Byron - 3 stars
This hotel is conveniently situated at 10 minutes walking distance from the Congress Centre.
Tastefully furnished rooms, many of which overlook the terrace garden while 9 of them have a nice beach view.

Helvetia - 3 stars
The Helvetia Hotel is a striking red-brick building set on the main street on the Lido, 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre.

La Meridiana - 3 stars
The Hotel La Meridiana is set in a restored 1930s-style building with a large garden, just 15 minutes walking distance to the Congress Centre. The hotel has a restaurant. 

Riviera - 3 stars
The Hotel Riviera enjoys a convenient location on the Lido, right at the Piazzale S.M. Elisabetta, 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre and only 10 minutes on foot from the sea and near the main streets and shops.

Venezia 2000 - 3 stars
The Hotel Venezia 2000 is housed in a handsome terracotta-colored building adjacent to a sandy beach and is situated at 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre. The hotel has a  restaurant. 

Villa Albertina - 3 stars
Villa Albertina is located very close to  the Congress Centre. It is a completely renovated, aristocratic 100 years' old building, with 10 comfortable rooms, a breakfast room and a bar lounge. 

Villa Edera - 3 stars⁺
Hotel Villa Edera is a brand new hotel located within 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre and within 10 minutes walk of the sea and just 150 meters from the public boat terminal and the old centre of Santa Maria Elisabetta. All 22 rooms are furnished in a beautiful Venetian style.

Biasutti - 4 stars
The Hotel Biasutti is an elegant complex divided into three splendid villas linked together by wide terraces and green gardens in the center of the Lido, within 15 minutes walking distance from the Congress Centre.

Ca'del Borgo - 4 stars
Ca' del Borgo is a XV century building that offers the fascination of a historical building together with the comforts of a modern and functional hotel structure. It is located near the ancient Ponte di Borgo bridge and is ideal for all those who appreciate peace and quiet and the quality of the surroundings.

Le Boulevard - 4 stars
The Hotel Le Boulevard is located in the main street of the Lido, at 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre The hotel has a restaurant.

Quattro Fontane - 4 stars
The Quattro Fontane Hotel, a large country house immersed in parkland, lies just minutes walking distance from the Congress Centre. It has a restaurant and a garden.

Russo Palace - 4 stars
The Russo Palace Hotel has a central position on Lido Island that is extremely quiet, within 10 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre. Some of the rooms of this Gothic style hotel have a balcony facing Venice lagoon.

Villa Mabapa - 4 stars
The Hotel Villa Mabapa is situated in a privileged position, just 10 minutes away by car from the Congress Centre, with view on the lagoon and a large garden. All rooms are recently renovated. The hotel has a restaurant.

Des Bains - 5 stars
The Hotel Des Bains is a turn-of-the-century Palladian style property set in lush parklands overlooking a private beach area, less than 5 minutes driving distance from the Congress Centre. All guestrooms are decorated in a Belle Époque style and offer views across the gardens. The hotel offers a number of dining options at its 3 restaurants and Pool Bar. It has a well-equipped fitness room, tennis court and outdoor pool.

Westin Excelsior - 5 stars
The Westin Excelsior Venice Lido Resort is situated right across the street from the Congress Centre. The hotel overlooks a private beach. All rooms are spread across seven floors with views over the sea, lagoon and city. A fitness room, tennis court and outdoor pool are available. The hotel has three restaurants and four diversely themed bars.

VENICE

Becher - 3 stars
Situated in the heart of Venice, only 10 minutes walking distance from St. Mark's Square and then 15 minutes by boat to the Congress Centre. Refined rooms in elegant 18^th centry style.

Bel Sito & Berlino - 3 stars
The Hotel Bel Sito & Berlino is situated in the historic centre of Venice, between St. Mark's square and La Fenice Theatre. From the hotel, it takes 15 minutes by boat to reach the Congress Centre. Located on Santa Maria del Giglio, a typical Venetian square, the hotel is housed inside an ancient building.

Ca'D'oro - 3 stars
The hotel is located in a quiet corner of t he Cannaregio district, 15 minutes by foot through the main shopping area to St. Mark's Square and from there 15 minutes by boat to the Congress Centre. The building was completely restored in 2000 but still offers the very particular atmosphere of Venice.
